Request Items Online
You may place a request for library items directly through our online catalog.
All that you need to do is access our online catalog:
- Click on the "My Account" link found on the bottom of the opening page.
- Enter your barcode number from your library card and your password (the last 5 digits of barcode number) then click on "My Account Login"
- The "Search For" box will be displayed once you are logged in. You can search for the item that you would like to request by entering your search term (Title or Author or Subject, etc.) in the empty box. By accepting the "in All Headings" option, from the pull down menu, you will be conducting a broad search, which may produce numerous results. To narrow your search, you may choose a different heading from the pull down menu to correspond with your search term (example: "Gone With the Wind" in "Title)
- Click on "Search"
- The results of your search will now be displayed. The item record may be displayed if the library holds only one item that corresponds with your search. For multiple results, a list of titles will be displayed or you may see "Hackettstown Free Public Library" with a number to its right (click on the number to display the list). Click on the item of your choice from this list.
- The item record will now be displayed. To reserve this item, click on the gray "Reserve Title" bar (located on the top of the record, below the blue "Display Format" area).
- Your request information will now appear in The "Self Reserve" box.
- Click on the "Submit" button located in the upper right hand corner. This item has now been reserved for you.
You can view a listing of all of your reserved items by going back to the original page where the "Search For" box was located.
- Click on "Patron Menu" which is found on the upper left hand side of the page.
- Click on "+My Account" which is located in the Hackettstown Free Public Library box found on the left side of this page.
- Select "My Circulation Status" from the expanded menu.
- Click on the "Reserved Items" link.
