Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 13th - 19th. Please join us to celebrate by making some quick and easy crafts to spread smiles in our community. If you have an idea for a Random Act of Kindness craft, let Kelly know before the meeting so she can pick up supplies.
Bring a book to share as well as ideas for new music, movies and magazines for the library.
Love candy? Love prizes? Love our library?
Enter the candy guess contest. Guess the right amount and you will win an awesome prize! On each form, tell us one thing you like about the library, maybe a new book, the game table, the new Bruno Mars CD, anything you'd like to share. You can make a guess each time you're here. Just fill out the form and share something new with us.
The contest is open to tweens and teens in 5th to 12th grades. We'll announce the winner at the Teen Advisory Board meeting on February 16 at 7:00 pm. All teens in grades 8 - 12 are welcome to join us at the meeting as we celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week.
Teens Who Read -- We Need You!
We need you! The Hackettstown Public Library is looking for eighth grade and high school students to join the volunteer Teen Advisory Board. Consider joining if you enjoy reading and want to:
- Earn Community Service Hours
- Add to your resume
- Have an impressive entry on your college applications
- Make your public library more "teen friendly"
- Choose what books, DVDs and music the library will purchase
- Voice your opinions
- Discuss the latest in teen books, magazines, movies and music
What is involved? Board members will attend periodic board meetings at the public library; 6 - 9 meetings in a calendar year. Members will provide feedback to library staff on purchases and programs for teens and tweens. Want to know more?
